AIR Festival 2010

"Niger conceals numerous artistic and cultural potential that can be recovered only through the creation of frameworks for the various actors to pool their talents."

Established in 2001 at the initiative of Minister of Tourism and Handicraft, Rhissa Ag Boula, the Festival of Air in helping to preserve a unique culture, is an excellent opportunity to promote the cultural and tourism Sahara in Niger.

The first six editions were held in the peaceful city of Iférouane nestled at the foot of Mount Tamgak.

All these editions have allowed the public to see performances of traditional dance, camel races, but also fashion parades and plays. During three days Iférouane vibrated to the rhythm of which is, of imzad and guitars.

Several dance competition, singing, poetry, the finest turban camel's best trained, best groomed, the most beautiful hairstyle. Camel races are held and the election of Miss Festival of the Air.

It's time for a reunion Tuareg communities of Air. This year, in the same spirit after a hiatus of two years because of the security situation, the population of the air with the support of political authorities has decided to organize the 7th edition in the picturesque village of AGHAROUS, Department of Tchirozérine.
