A group of Tunisia archeologists helped by a team from Oxford University has found animal skeletons and hunting tools from 100,000 years ago in Nefta, southwestern Tunisia in the Tozeur . The area stretches over an area of about seven hectares. The announcement to the media was made by Mourad Chetoui, reseacher from the Tunisian National Heritage Instiute in Tozeur. He added that this discovery was evidence of the existence of human settlements in the region of possibly as old as 100,000 years ago, on the basis of initial analyses.
