An armed foreigner arrested in borders with Morocco
Border guard units in Bechar, south-east of Algeria, have managed arresting an armed man near borders with Morocco following an armed clash with him, concordant sources told El Khabar.
The same sources pointed out that the man was armed with a Kalashnikov, and transferred to Abadla hospital where he is getting medical care under tough security control.
The arrested man is likely from Morocco or a Swahili country regarding his accent, said the sources.
Security services have been ordered shooting anybody intercepted in borders rejecting surrendering, following failing arresting people involved in recent smuggling operations, while seizing 4 tons of 5 stars drugs and huge quantities of foreign brands tobacco, added the same sources.
However, security forces believe that the arrested man, who was seriously wounded in the clash, was likely in charge of keeping an eye on smuggled goods, either drugs or tobacco.
Furthermore, well informed sources told El Khabar an Army aviation unit has bombarded Friday a convoy composed of five 4X4 cars loaded with huge quantities of smuggled tobacco southern Bechar, while the smugglers managed escaping the military raid.
