TUNISIA: TRAFFIC CHAOS, PUBLIC OFFICES CHANGE HOURS

Traffic in Tunis, especially at rush hour, is almost paralysed. And so, in an attempt to ease the situation, the Prime Minister has decided that next Monday, in the region known as Greater Tunis, the working hours for the services of the central administration will change. The municipalities affected are those of Tunis, Ben Arous, Ariana and Manouba and the hours have been fixed in this way: from Monday to Thursday, from 9 to 13 and from 14:30 to 17:45; Friday and Saturday, from 9 to 14. The hours, according to what the Tap agency reports, were studied keeping in mind schools and universities, banks and businesses and will be subject to another evaluation before its definitive adoption. The hope is that these measures will serve to make the traffic less chaotic in a situation that is ever more disastrous. A decision that, many users of the roads observe, should be combined with more careful and severe control of drivers who use vehicles that are in a deplorable state, as well as dangerous.
